The real tragedy of COVID-19 is the social and cultural stigma associated with infected people from disease. Taking forward one celebrated works Erving Goffman, known as (1963), this article offers a critical understanding different fractions created during pandemic in Indian society. Following qualitative research method, study interviewed twenty COVID-19-positive selected age groups, sex, socio-economic background state Odisha India. participants attended interview through telephonic video conferencing to throw light on conundrum discrimination. outlined link between prestige economically marginalized how brought about catastrophe sections society culminated 'Twain Untouchability. Besides this, also includes content analysis some newspaper articles published 2020. examines lived experiences, discrimination, stigmatization phenomenological following ways. Firstly, analyzes people’s emotional experiences pre, post, phase. Secondly, it their relatives perceptions COVID-19-affected people. Thirdly, suggests ways mitigate COVID 19 pandemic.
